ClamAV 0.98.1 - Copfilter V1
Re: ClamAV 0.98.1 - Copfilter V1
Hi there, I just realized that after the update from ClamAV 0.98 to 0.98.1, my virus DB didn't update anymore, and I don't receive errors via email (or else) about it.
I've IpCop 1.4.21 with copfilter 0.85.3beta4 and 3rd-party signature databases Version 0.60.0
I've upgraded 3rd party signature to 0.60.6 but nothing.
I've tried downgrading back to 0.98 but still no updates.
I've then deleted the daily.cvd from the /var/log/copfilter/default/opt/clamav/virdb and manually started freshclam.
The daily.cvd was then updated but I think I've to run it manually..
As soon as a new dialy.cvd is available, I'll try and see if the virus DB update automatically and reply here.
Am I the only one having this problem?
Edit:
It seems the update script get stuck. Ive found this in the /var/log/messages
Feb 19 13:53:57 ipcop copfilter antivirus freshclam update: clamav updatescript is still running! exiting.
Thanks
Piero

Hi vdu,
I think it is an issue with your temp files.
Please delete all the files in /tmp directory,
and then reinstall clamav 0.98.1 and 3rd sigs 0.60.6
Regards.

Yes that was it. I think I installed the clamav update probably during an update of the virus libraries, thus leaving the old tmp files behind.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: ClamAV 0.98.1 - Copfilter V1
Hi,
I support 2 IPCop machines that are still on 1.4.21 with CopFilter 0.85.2
Can I install the ClamAV 0.98.1 or do I need to update Copfilter first.
Yes I have been lazy on these 2 machines, Have been waiting for 2.1.x before updateing.
Pity the squid proxy is so unstable.
EDIT: So lazy I still have ClamAV 0.97.3 on them. Have been too overoptimistic about 2.1 arriving & just kept putting it off.
Thanks.
Regards Moshari.

Hi Moshari,

You need first to upgrade to 0.85.3beta4 or 0.85.3beta5 before installing Clamav (when upgrading, clamav will be reinstalled).moshari_3 wrote:Can I install the ClamAV 0.98.1 or do I need to update Copfilter first.
