{Solved}Email Setup

Post by mrutenbeck » 05 May 2014 18:58

Hello,

I found an issue in 2.1.92beta4. I am trying to type in my email address information in the email settings for updates, etc. It gives me an error of invalid input and will not save anything. Here is an example of how I am setting it up:

Email Address: user@domain.com SMTP-AUTH enabled: off
SMTP server: 192.168.1.10 SMTP-AUTH user:
Sender Address: copfilter@domain.com SMTP-AUTH password:
Send update mail notification: on Secure-SMTP-Authentication (sslv3, slsv1): off

Thanks!!

**Update**

I believe it has something to do with missing the line UPDATE_MAIL_NOTIF= in the global settings file.

Hi Mrutenbeck!

I think you missed the port after the smtp server setting?
E.g. 192.168.1.10:25

Hi,

@Kare: mrutenbeck is right, there is an issue with the GUI: invalid input! So there is no writting in copfilter_settings file, because removing PRIVOXY_ENABLE entry ;)

@mrutenbeck:

replace in /home/httpd/cgi-bin/copfilter_mail.cgi ~ line 254:

Code: Select all

	    $copfiltersettings{'PRIVOXY_ENABLE'} !~ /^(on|off)$/ ||
with

Code: Select all

	    $copfiltersettings{'ICAP_PRIVOXY_ENABLE'} !~ /^(on|off)$/ ||
	    $copfiltersettings{'HTTP_PRIVOXY_ENABLE'} !~ /^(on|off)$/ ||

Regards.

$copfiltersettings{'HTTP_PRIVOXY_ENABLE'} !~ /^(on|off)$/ ||
I have done this in order to correct my email setup issues.

what I get is this when I attempt to log back in and finish setting up my email:

"Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, root@localhost and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log"

If I put back the $copfiltersettings line in mail.cgi then I can refresh the page with no error but still gives me invalid input on email address.

Hi ,

Here is the fix! ;)

EDIT 2014-05-30 17:00- new version of the fix
EDIT 2014-06-01 17:40- new version of the fix ( thanks to billythet for reporting issue)
Download: Fix for mail GUI - copfilter 2.1.92beta4

Copy to /tmp. Then type:

Code: Select all

tar xzvf mail_GUI_fix.tar.gz
cd mail_GUI_fix
./install
The uninstall will restore all your original files.

Hi,

@dablitz: i found the culprit for your issue: it is in the /var/log/copfilter/etc/global_settings :

Code: Select all

ICAP__PRIVOXY_ENABLE=off
(or = on according your settings)

it should be

Code: Select all

 ICAP_PRIVOXY_ENABLE=off
(or = on according your settings)

with only one "_"
it is an issue with the original file.
Please add ICAP_PRIVOXY_ENABLE=off (do NOT REMOVE ICAP__PRIVOXY_ENABLE=off for now , to prevent new issues )

regards.
