Survey-Result: IPFire and "Firefilter"

Postby FischerM » 07 Oct 2012 13:25

To all Copfilter users!

First we want to thank you for participating in this survey!

In summary, a total of 41 votes were given, of which 39 agreed
YES and 2 voted NO. This is a clear result.

The entire "turnout" (365 registered users, as of 05/10/2012) was
about 11% - not great, but still ok: there have been surveys with much
less traffic...

Anyway, we would have done it in the German "Bundestag" with this result... ;-)

The future plans for the Copfilter will be, in consultation with the
IPFire team, to provide a "Firefilter".

However, this cannot be achieved in a day,
therefore: FireFilter is coming WIR! Please be patient...

Best regards - thanks for staying tuned and for the continued
confidence!

The Copfilter team

Hi,

sad to say, but I don't think that there will be a "firefilter" during a "foreseeable future".

For a start, I added 'privoxy', which is running by now (as an Pakfire update), but by my programming skills are not good enough to adapt the whole Copfilter package for IPFire.

The acceptance was not as high as expected.

Best,
Matthias

oh no.... :-( hope that my copfilter will suffice for a while. for years i'm big fan of your copfilter. i'm just missing to add some more RAM!

maybe oneday will come a good alternative as SMTP Proxy with Spamfilter and all AV's.

thx a lot for your reply! i dont't hope that this means that copfilter dies a slow death
