Hello ShelbyGT500,

a bit difficult to contact you directly… I don't use Copfilter, but I do use Privoxy and I like the copfilter.action file you maintain. I'm currently active on PrxBx forum; Privoxy section. I just finished briefly discussing “your” third-party rules under this thread. In it, I have recommended to apply minor changes to extend a little further the scope of blocking. I thought that you would like to be aware of those…

Finally, on this forum, you'll see a way to make Privoxy able to read HTTPS connexion. It uses ProxHTTPSProxyMII, which is—for me at least—the best answer I know so far. Originally created to run side by side with Proxomitron, it works equally well with Privoxy. The related-Python script is provided for “inspection” as well, but the conditions under which it is released remain unclear though… I created a tutorial for the OS X platform. You will see a Linux thread as well, of course. There's also a Windows version here. My own experience is ProxHTTPSProxyMII works absolutely fine. Privoxy can now see what it couldn't see before! As a result, the number of blocked requests has dramatically increased…

Unfortunately, an increasing number of Privoxy users are desperate of no longer relying on Privoxy nowadays just because of the all-SSL attitude, whereas there is a real solution. As said earlier, I confirm it works top good for me.

Hope that's useful enough for you. I don't think I'm going to be very active on the Copfilter forum.

Thanks for reading. Good day!
